Client recommendation for IRL Group leads to factory floor contract

RK Polymer, suppliers of plastic protected glass bottles called on IRL Group to refurbish its factory floor following a previous client’s recommendation.

R K Polymer supplies plastic protected glass bottles to the chemical industry and the drinks bottling industry, as well as providing protection for a wide variety of specialised laboratory apparatus. IRL Group was approached by the company on the recommendation of another client for which it had completed a project five years ago. RK Polymers had a facility in Loughborough which required refurbishment with a new screed and coating. The factory floor was in desperate need of repair and a FeRFA type 5 product was chosen. The floor was shot blasted and primed to give a key for the new self smoothing polymer screed that was laid by hand to 7mm. Two coats of Flowcoat SF41 were then applied to give an exceptional finish. Flowcrete’s Flowcoat SF41 is a high performance, solvent free and ultra chemical resistant epoxy resin floor coating. It is ideal for use as a hard wearing coloured floor coating in manufacturing environments such as factories, warehouses, plant and storerooms where high resistance against chemical attack is required.
