Marketing Hub Greenwich Peninsula

Resin provides a modern solution for a flexible mixed-use space, part theatre, exhibition and gallery, as well as creating a marketing hub for luxury apartments in Greenwich.

Greenwich Peninsula is no longer only famous for the Millenium Dome and East Enders, it is attracting design-savvy Londoners looking for somewhere exciting to live, work and relax. Developer Knight Dragon is transforming 190 acres of old marshes to create 10,000 new homes, plus restaurant’s, cafes, galleries, artists’ studios and a park. The Marketing Hub will serve as a shop window for the sales of properties on the Peninsula as well as offer space for more recreational activities. Although wanting the look and durability of terrazzo the traditional approach had some drawbacks and a more elastic flooring was required, with improved acoustics in such a large open space and more subtle and sophisticated tone. Remmers developed a system specifically for this project and following trials work commenced. As well as the 530m2 main floor, the project included a feature staircase and a custom built model plinth. This featured a custom built model of Greenwich peninsula in a bright white resin finish from Sika. The finished project is an example of resin flooring with perfect aesthetics, meeting a specific and custom design brief. The complexity and challenges on site were many but through excellent teamwork the project was completed in time for launch night. The installation puts resin flooring in the gaze of purchasers for the new homes, potentially taking it into even more new markets.
