Waterfront Bar in a different League

Leeds largest waterfront venue, in the heart of Brewery Wharf, has a glittering floor to match its clientele.

Oracle, Leeds largest waterfront venue in the heart of the newly developed Brewery Wharf, is an oasis for the more discerning customer. The building is split into two floors offering a modern, sophisticated, champagne bar with gourmet menu downstairs. Upstairs is an exclusive members’ cocktail bar with opulent décor where you can spot the celebrities and footballers. ACC Flooring was given the task of offering a sustainable flooring solution with a difference. Carrying out a full survey of the building and discussing the clients’ requirements, meant the project could be planned to the finest detail. The company also provided a waste management solution which meant 100% of the waste was removed and recycled. The time schedule was tight as the club was only closed from Sunday morning to be ready to open on Thursday evening. These timescales also included all the furniture being removed and replaced. This was a tight schedule, however, by utilising fast cure primers ACC was able to respond. A decorative flake system was laid into a 2mm self-smoothing screed, which was sealed using a final coat of ultra-violet, matt seal. The flakes were manufactured to the clients exact colour choice and included six separate colours to provide the final colour selection in two areas. Stainless steel trims were used to the entrance matting to provide further detail within the floor. Specially produced glitters were introduced to certain areas to give maximum impact on entry to the bars. Being a public bar, health & safety issues were paramount and anti-slip properties were essential. As the system was a decorative flake offering a great visual impact, ACC sourced an anti-slip aggregate that was not visible, yet did its job. Adding a ballentine bead with an opaque finish to the seal coat, although invisible, provided the result needed, an easy to clean, aesthetically pleasing, anti-slip solution.
