School of Digital Arts -SODA Manchester Metropolitan University

Another project completed by TPS360! The School of Digital Arts (SoDA) is a purpose-built, interdisciplinary higher education facility at one of the UK’s leading universities.
It provides specialist music and recording spaces including gallery, general teaching space, breakout space including recording labs. Alongside spaces to collaborate, this specialist facility includes film studios, green screens, edit suites, sound, music and production studios, a cinema and a gallery.

THE PROJECT

The project utilized FeRFA Type 5 specified products including Remmers MT100 Primer and Remmers Epoxy OS Colour, alongside Remmers PUR Top M+. Spanning over 7 days, the project covered an area of 1911m². To prepare the substrate, Husqvarna 800 planetary grinders and 80-id dust extraction vacuums were employed. This meticulous preparation ensured the substrate was not only dimensionally stable but also capable of bearing heavy loads, free from loose constituents, dust, oil, grease, rubber marks, and other contaminants that could compromise adhesion. The application of Remmers Epoxy OS Colour New, a colored epoxy self-smoothing resin system, was chosen for its robust mechanical strength and excellent chemical resistance, making it well-suited for demanding industrial environments. Additionally, its low VOC content makes it a preferred choice for commercial settings such as schools, hospitals, and retail areas. Typical applications for this system include educational facilities, healthcare environments, and retail spaces, where durability and cleanliness are paramount.
